• Bug fixed: In relative mouse mode, if the adapter was disconnected while the "Quick Tip" window was open, the mouse would not function correctly afterwards.

• Fixed: Max OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) support was broken in 100702 version. We intend to support both 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

• Linux: Error shown during operation interfered with operation. Fixed.

• Linux: Minor installation error removed.

Release Notes - July 2, 2010 - Version 100702

• Bug fixed: in relative mode (with mouse captured) if the USB cable between the adapter and the laptop is removed while operating, the mouse would not function correctly afterwards (Windows only).

• Bug fixed: newer production units required software changes that are not backwards compatible with existing firmware, so a new firmware release had to be made. Functionality is not changed, however, we can no longer support downgrading to older releases from this point forward. Therefore, once this release (July 2010) is installed on an adapter, it will not allow downgrades to older versions. It is possible to use with older releases, but each time it will try to change the firmware and fail (no message shown).

• Bug fixed: errors that might occur during firmware upgrade were not reported to the user.

• The message, "Loading FPGA..." has been changed to "Initializing..."

Release Notes - June 24, 2010 - Version 100624

• Bugfix: in relative mode (mouse captured) clicks were not registered unless the mouse was also moved during the click; fixed.

• Transparent keyboard feature added (under Keyboard menu). This new mode allows most special "system" key sequences to be sent to the attached host without affect laptop. In regular mode, they act locally instead. These special keys include:

  1. Windows key (L and R)
  2. Command key (L and R)
  3. Printscreen, Pause
  4. Alt-F4, Alt-Tab, Command-Tab
  5. Caps, Num and Scroll lock keys

• Transparent keyboard supported on Windows and Mac OS X but not Linux yet.

• International keyboard support on Mac OS X: when in transparent mode only. Please note that host and laptop should be same input locale.

• Release captured mouse key sequence changed (back) to Alt-Ctrl-Shift (left side).

• Bugfix: USB Keyboard/Mouse not detected on certain versions of Windows, sometimes.

• Add support for 32-bit Linux (Debian and RPM packaging).

• When laptop's screen is 768 pixel or less in height, tool bar is made smaller to save screen space.

• "Alt" removed from set of keys needed to escape relative mouse mode. Just press Control and Shift at the same time now.

• Removed tooltip (yellow text) on main video window, it was always in the way and didn't add much info.

• Virtual keyboard improvements:

  • The virtual keyboard labels include Mac-specific graphics when used on Mac.
  • Added F13 through 19, and Clear for Mac support.
  • Minor label changes
    • Caps => Caps Lock
    • Windows => Window

• Keyboard internationalization:

  • Now transparent for keyboard localizations; ie. german keyboard and german host should work correctly together.
  • There is no setup needed for this, and should support all possible languages.
  • The Mac version does not yet support this feature (US English only).

• Relative mouse support:

  • When host O/S does not support our special absolute USB mouse feature, the program works in a fall-back mode (relative motion).
    • Good for USB KVM systems.
    • DOS-mode programs with legacy USB support.
  • You must click the window to move the mouse and your mouse will be captured (limited) into that window.
  • Once mouse is captured into the window in relative mode:
    • You have to press Alt-Ctrl-Shift to get your mouse back out.
    • Also supports a circle gesture (with mouse) but disabled by default.
    • An explaination is shown when mouse is captured.
  • You can force relative-mode, but normally selected automatically, with preference for absolute mode with no mouse capture.

• Detects Mac OS X host and sets mouse scaling flag automatically.

• Now supports Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and is 14Megs lighter.

• Mouse buttons can be swapped to support lefties (a user perference).

• Performance statistics are now word-wrapped correctly, when toolbar is vertical mode.

• Added "reset video" option to video menu. Similar effect to hotplug of video connector.

• (Windows) Overly prominent "Uninstall" link removed from Start menu shortcuts. Use the "Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs" method instead.

• Links to latest version, and online manual corrected.
